Spectronome

Beep ··· Beep ··· Beep

In Spectronome, you are the sole survivor of a haunted space station.

Armed with your spectronome, hunt down and release the tortured ghost's soul before the station's oxygen reserves run out.

This is a short gamejam submission, created for the NFTS' annual SoundJam, in collaboration with Sarah Lanaway, Natalie Bond, Guldem Masa, Samuel Morris, and Oliver Mapp.
The SoundJam is a two-day gamejam done in collaboration with students from the Sound Design course at the NFTS, with the requirement that the game's core mechanic should revolve around sound.

The theme for that year was 'Technology', so we designed a game where players use a high-tech 'spectronome' to hunt down and release a tortured spirit haunting a space station.

I was charged with implementing the spectronome system, with a beeping proximity sensor to find which room is haunted and a viewing screen that blinks to life once players enter a haunted room, allowing them to visually fine-tune their aim before releasing the ghost.
