Collabathon

Game Studio Project Management Simulator

Collabathon is a game studio management game developed as a gamejam entry for the 2021 UKIE Collab-Jam.

Players must allocate their four team members to different tasks, juggling between skill sets and deadlines to ensure they meet their project milestones.

I worked on this project alongside Parham Sorooshian and Sarah Lanaway, with Moran Machulsky as our mentor.
The Collab-Jam's theme was, as you might imagine, "Collaboration". Based on this, Parham, Sarah and I decided to make a game revolving around the collaboration we had seen arise on game development projects.

Each of the game's four team members has a specific skill set, and a task gets completed more quickly the more team members are on it. Players therefore have to try and allocate their team resources in the most effective way, and stay on their toes as tasks get completed.

Sarah and I shared the programming work on the game, while Parham provided the artwork. All three of us contributed to the gameplay design.
